Who We Are

Formerly known as Casco Bay Rescue Mission and believe we all need to take an active part in our communities to foster hope for everyone so that no one is left behind. We serve the homeless population of the Greater Portland area. Our organization, a 501C3, is based upon biblical foundations and are open to serving anyone who is willing. Our new center will be equipped with laptops for individuals to use for employment and home searches as well as keeping up with their emails. We also offer counsel based upon biblical principles and offer educational resources for substance abuse and mental health disorders. We also offer non-perishable goods to keep the cupboards and bellies of those we serve, full. We also network with other organizations to be able to provide a comprehensive service for any particular need that arises.

Rev. Dan & Tammy White

The Director

We are led by Rev. Dan White, who has served in the ministry for 18+ years, many of those years he has served people with mental health and substance abuse disorders in and outside the church community. He has a master's degree and is also continuing in education learning more about neurological mental health disorders. He has also been employed for the past 25+ years in onsite technical services. He has always had a heart to reach out to the poor and struggling and left his pulpit pastorate some years ago to venture out into the streets to serve the homeless. It was a time of New Genesis for him.

We Welcome You

New GENESIS will be offering resources and educational opportunity throughout the year to also create awareness. New GENESIS exists to serve the homeless and at risk populations of Portland, Maine, by following the biblical way in endeavoring to follow in the footprints of Jesus. Loving God and loving others.
